Anton Yelchin, better known as “Chekov” from Star Trek died by his own car this morning at his own home.
His car rolled back in his driveway and pinned him between his mailbox and a fence at his home in Los Angeles. According to police, he had gotten out the vehicle momentarily but forgot that it was rolling back as he was behind it and it just pressed him. He was supposed to be on his way to meet his friends for rehearsal when this happened. When he never showed up, his friends went to his house and found him dead.
This is really tragic because he was fresh on the scene, a new face to the Star Trek series and for this to happen so abruptly when audiences were just beginning to get familiar with his face. Our condolences go out to his friends, family, and loved ones because this is a very unfortunate event.
