The newest version of an NBA super team is in effect thanks to Kevin Durant deciding to join the already loaded Golden State Warriors. While they are the clear odds on favorite to win the title next year, nothing is guaranteed, which is why you play the games. Last year the Warriors were 73-9 without Durant, so naturally fans want to expect even more wins this year but it likely won’t work out that way. In fact, the team will need time adjusting and might even struggle for the first month or two of the season but by the time the playoffs come around they should be in high gear. With that said, Steph Curry wants fans to be realistic about the upcoming season.

It’s still championship or bust for the Warriors but they players themselves know nothing will come easy.

“Just because we have KD, because the guys we have on the roster – we do have one of the most talented rosters in the NBA – but that doesn’t mean we’re just going to blow everybody out,” Curry told the Bay Area News Group’s Marcus Thompson. “It’s not like CYO, where you roll the ball out and the most talented team wins. We’re going to have to work. We’re going to have to play well. Nothing will be given to us. We’re not going to go 82-0 and blow everybody out. We are going to be challenged.”

The Warriors will likely win 60-65 games but will think twice about going after any record even if they are in position to based on this past season’s outcome.
