After gracing the cover of XXL for the Freshman artists of 2016, Lil Yachty has been on the move. He put together a dope short film with Fader magazine just in time for his Summer Songs 2 album release party which he hosted on none other than a red boat. Lil Yachty also had his short film be screened in New York, LA and Atlanta for fans to watch tonight.
When asked about the album he said:

“The tape is fire, if you don’t think the tape is fire forget you.”

Often mocked in school for his loud red hair and different personality, he says that “he always knew he was the sh*t.” After realizing that school wasn’t for him, he left Mississippi in pursuit of a music career. Despite friends and family not initially feeling his sound, he remained true to himself and his style.

Lil Yachty’s sound is unique and can be heard on several collaborations including Chance The Rapper’s Coloring Book. With a new album and short film out for fans to enjoy, ‘Lil Boat’ is definitely making his dreams come true.
