Toya Wright recently experienced a tragic loss. Her two brothers were shot and killed in New Orleans. Wright says she was hosting a party when she got the call.
Toya says,
“I got a call from my sister-in-law and she was like, ‘Your brothers just got shot.’ The music was loud and I’m [thinking], this can’t be real,”
She says she then began to call her family members but no one answered the phone. She said,
“I guess they didn’t want to tell me what was really going on,”
The case is still ongoing as police have not yet found any suspects. When Toya’s daughter Reginae heard the news, she drove to New Orleans to be with her family. Toya went on to say,
“It was the worst news ever. Murders happen every day and this is another dark night in New Orleans. You hear about stories like this all the time, but it doesn’t really hit you until you get that call. It hits so close to home.”
