It’s amazing how many sub-stories can come from one podcast but that’s what the power of Lebron James does. Bron was on the “Open Run Podcast” earlier this week, where a bunch of topics were covered like the Olympics, Michael Jordan’s legacy, how hard it is to guard Carmelo Anthony and more. Each of those topics essentially became their own story for websites such as this but there was more. Lebron has always been asked who guards him the best and he usually never gives a direct answer. This time he decided to answer with no hesitation that Kawhi Leonard makes life the toughest on the King on the court.

A quick check of the stats will show Lebron doesn’t really have any issues against Leonard, leading him in every category during their head to head matchups except for steals. Sometimes numbers can lie or mislead though because Lebron is never the type of player to just randomly praise an opponent.

“Kawhi Leonard,” James replied, as relayed by Pro Basketball Talk. “Kawhi Leonard, he’s solid. He’s solid, solid at that end of the floor. He’s very, very solid. I like him. I like the kid.”

There really is no such thing as stopping Lebron, so as long as you make him work hard for everything he is going to get then you are doing your job. Kawhi is not your average defender, winning defensive player of the year twice and at only age 25, he will be coming for Lebron for years to come. It’s a shame they only meet twice during the regular season.
