A recent study is now showing that Marijuana relieves pain but more so for men than woman. The study says that the two bodies react different to the drug.

Researchers with the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Department of Psychiatry and the Columbia University Medical Center says the Marijuana reduced pain in men, whereas “failed to decrease pain sensitivity” in women. The Marijuana did however relieve pain in both men and woman. The study took 42 people to study the pain-reducing qualities of smoking weed. They were given either active cannabis or a placebo. The participants were then asked to place their hands in cold water until they could not take the cold pain anymore. This showed the Marijuana helped men more than woman. The study’s co-author says,

This study underscores the importance of including both men and women in clinical trials aimed at understanding the potential therapeutic and negative effects of cannabis, particularly as more people use cannabinoid products for recreational or medical purposes.
