California, Nebraska, and Oklahoma have just now voted in favor of the death penalty. At one point in California, a federal judge ruled the death penalty was unconstitutional and voted against banning the death penalty by an eight point margin. The state has now voted in favor of speeding up death row cases, with 50.9 percent voting in favor. Cali is the largest population on death row of any state with about 750 people. They have not executed anyone since 2006

Even though Nebraska approved a death penalty ban last year, 61.2 percent of voters have elected to reinstate it. The ban had helped replace the death penalty with life without parole. In Oklahoma, a two-to-one margin showed that voters want to keep the death penalty and allow for “any method of execution not prohibited by the United States Constitution.” They had put a temporary stop to executions in 2014 and 2015. In 2014, they had a “troubled” lethal injection, and last year had the wrong drugs delivered, twice, to an execution.
