Earlier this year we were surprised with a Jhene Aiko and Big Sean joint album titled “Twenty88”. Big Sean confirms that in 2017 there will be a followup to this album.

Big Sean took to Twitter to announce the follow up project for the two. This was a successful album selling 40,000 units in the first week and was enjoyed by fans, so why not follow this up with another one?

Thank you the next @twenty88 album is coming next year. We gon get our solo's off too though! #Dons #Soulmates #88 https://t.co/bXNP2VxAbd

According to K-Ci & Jo-Jo who were featured on the last album, said some of the final touches came very last minute.

“Once we got in the studio [with Sean], I was like, ‘What is this song really talking about?’” Jo-Jo told Billboard magazine in a March interview. “He started saying some of the raps and I was like, ‘Okay, this is one of them freaky songs right here!’ Everything happened so fast. We didn’t know what we were stepping into.”

Of course, Jhene and Sean plan to finish both of their solo efforts before releasing part two of their joint album. Sean’s last album “Dark Sky Paradise” was back in 2015 and was platinum. Jhene’s debut album “Souled Out” sold 70,000 units week one. So both of them have very successful solo careers and their solo albums should mimic their previous success.
