Two people were left dead including the gunman after a airport shooting took place. Oklahoma City Police stated in a news conference that the victim was 52-year-old Michael Winchester. The suspect was found dead in a red pickup truck on the second floor of a public parking garage that overlooked where the incident took place. He died from a self inflicted wound to the head. They have not released the name of the suspect due to his injuries. The only thing we know is that he is a white male.
They found the suspect’s truck just three hours later. With the help of a robot, they realized the man was dead. Winchester, who was a Southwest Airlines employee, was walking between a terminal and the airport’s employee parking area when he was shot. Oklahoma City Police Capt. Paco Balderrama says,
“This individual went there and waited for the employee to either be coming or going to take this opportunity,”
He died shortly after being taken to the hospital. Southwest Airlines made a statement saying,
“It is with great sorrow that Southwest Airlines confirms that a Southwest Employee who was injured during a shooting incident today at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City has died from injuries,”
