The Weeknd is killing it….he just set a new record for Spotify with his new album Starboy.
So Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd, has broken Spotify’s single-day streaming record by toppling Justin Bieber’s 36 million streams of his album Purpose from November 13th 2015. The number isn’t exact yet, but we know it’s way up there as he reportedly “shattered” that number in just a single day with the most streams of his star-studded 18 track album with Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, Daft Punk, and Future.
He’s expecting to move around 400K units in it’s first week, but I think it’s going to be like mid 600s or something. We’ll see!
