Judge Glenda Hatchett says,

“DJ Suede and his management were in conversations with her lawyer. They didn’t reach an agreement and they put it out anyway.” James Walker, Shirley Caesar’s attorney, says the remix and video in question “violate the brand, image, and name of a Christian pastor.”

The team always believes that the remix could have jeopardized a deal Caesar had with Snoop Dogg. Snoop did his own challenge but he and Caesar had worked out a deal. Walker says,

“Snoop did his clean version to send the message that ‘this is Shirley Caesar’. We need to honor her.”
