Andrei Karlov, the Russian ambassador to Turkey, was shot and killed today by 22-year old Mevlüt Mert Altintason on live camera while giving a speech. He was killed by Altintason, an off-duty police officer, who yelled “Allahu Akbar” before yelling in Turkish, “We die in Aleppo, you die here” (referencing the mayhem going on in the Syrian city).
Altintason was shot dead after a 15 minute stand off with special forces, while three others were injured in the incident. President Obama nor President Elect Donald Trump have commented on the incident yet. Warning:
