According to The NY Daily News, Sacramento Kings Matt Barnes is expected to turn himself in to the NYPD next week for charges stemming from a brawl in a club back in December. Barnes, along with DeMarcus Cousins and some friends, got into a fight in the club, which Barnes claims only started when a woman got in his face, along with a man who was with her.

Among those injured were Jasmine Besiso, 26, and Myrone Powell, 35, both of whom claimed they were not involved in the initial dispute but got caught up in it when Barnes started choking the woman he was quarelling with.

Powell has stood by his claim that he was attacked by both Barnes and Cousins. Police have not filed charges against Cousins and don’t plan on doing so, according to a source.

Michael Lamonsoff, the lawyer for Besiso and Powell, said the criminal investigation has “taken way too long” and that his clients have not been kept abreast of the investigation.

Barnes maintains his innocence and is expected to turn himself in next week but not until the end of the Kings 4 game road trip.
