My Mixtapez and Jordan Brand linked up for a special art activation at SXSW over the weekend, taking place at the My Mixtapez House. The gallery revealed exclusive and rare childhood photos of the legendary Biggie Smalls, commemorating the 20-year anniversary of his passing. The event also featured performances by The LOX and Diddy’s sons, Christian and Justin Combs.

Also in attendance were Ma$e, Nick Grant and Gizzle. Biggie’s manager, Wayne Barrow, and Bad Boy president, James Cruz, unveiled the exclusive Notorious B.I.G. x Jordan 13 shoe at the event as well, designed as a collaborative effort by My Mixtapez and Jordan Brand. The shoe will be released to the public on B.I.G.’s birthday, May 21.

“The real focus of this is the celebration of life. 20 years, we lost Notorious B.I.G., and 20 years ago, Michael Jordan put out a Jordan 13, considered the GOAT of basketball,” Jamez Cruz said. “And we consider Big the GOAT of Hip Hop. So to put these two brands together, along with the Bad Boy brand and My Mixtapez brand, brings together a force of positive energy and reinforcement for Hip Hop and the culture. That’s why we did all this – to celebrate life.”
