Defensive tackle Darnell Dockett had to choose between staying with the Arizona Cardinals or moving on to the San Francisco 49ers.  After a productive visit with the 49ers on Tuesday, his agent Drew Rosenhaus announced Dockett chose to sign with the 49ers.

Dockett signed a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the 49ers, with $4 million being paid in the first season and $2 million guaranteed, also keeping him in the NFC West.  The Cardinals wanted him back but reportedly it was at a reduced salary.

Dockett had also reportedly drawn interest from the Seattle Seahawks and the St. Louis Rams making the entire NFC West in quest of his services.

Dockett, 33, missed all of the 2014 season after tearing his ACL during training camp last August. Before last season, Dockett missed two games in 10 seasons.

He finished his 11-year career with the Cardinals with 459 tackles, 40.5 sacks, 12 fumble recoveries, seven forced fumbles and four interceptions.
