Brett Favre Reaches Out to Weezy in Rikers

Recently, Young Money President Mack Maine sat down with MTV News and among other things, spoke on how Lil Wayne’s favorite player, Minnesota Vikings’ Brett Favre, reached out to the incarcerated rapper and has him in high spirits. “Brett reached out, and he made sure I told Wayne that,” Mack said in the interview. “That was the first thing [Brett] asked when he got back to camp, really. [Vikings tackle] Bryant McKinnie is one of our friends, B-Mac. [Favre] asked B-Mac, ‘How you been?’ B-Mac answered. And he was like, ‘How’s Wayne?’ That was his second question to B-Mac. Those two are real good friends. He said, ‘Let [Wayne] know I been praying for him and send him my love.’ So I let Wayne know that. He said, ‘You just brightened my spirits up for the rest of the month.’ He was real excited.” Weezy is expected to be released from Rikers Island on November 4th, and I’m sure we’ll catch him in attendance of more than a few games!

Dereck Jeter admits he wasn’t hit by pitch.

Derek Jeter sold it like a professional, darting away from an inside pitch during the seventh inning on Wednesday, then shaking his arm in apparent pain while walking to first base. Only later, after home-plate umpire Lance Barksdale had believed Jeter’s self-described “acting” job and ejected Rays manager Joe Maddon in the process, did the Yankees’ captain come clean about the performance he’d put on for the crowd at Tropicana Field. “It hit the bat,” Jeter said. “He told me to go to first. I’m not going to tell him, ‘I’m not going to go to first,’ you know? My job is to get on base.” The exhibition proved beneficial for the Yankees, because it meant that Jeter was aboard a batter later when Curtis Granderson cracked a two-run homer just over the right-field wall, giving New York a 3-2 lead at the time. “It’s part of the game,” Jeter said. “I’ve been hit before and they said I wasn’t hit. My job is to get on base, and fortunately for us it paid off at the time. I’m sure it would have been a bigger story if we would have won that game.” Replays showed the ball hit the knob of Jeter’s bat. Granderson’s homer came only after Maddon was done with his lengthy argument, during which he even instructed pitcher Chad Qualls to field the ball from the infield grass and get it over to first base for a potential putout.

Movie Extra in Coma After Accident Filming ‘Transformers 3’

A Chicago woman working as an extra on the next “Transformers” movie is in a medically induced coma after she was injured during filming, MyFoxChicago.com reports. Gabriela Cedillo, 24, has been pursuing a passion for acting while working a regular job at a bank . On Wednesday, she was driving her car through a scene of “Transformers 3,” filming in Hammond, Ind., when a stunt for the scene went horribly wrong. Witnesses said a cable snapped, whipping through her windshield and hitting her in the head. She is recovering from brain surgery at Loyola Medical Center. Neighbors told MyFoxChicago.com that Cedillo was excited to be working on the movie. “It was a blessing to know she was going to be a part of it,” Nate Smith told the TV station. “But then to find out she was part of the unfortunate accident, it set you back a few steps. … Nothing you can do but sit and pray.” The last day of filming in Chicago had been scheduled for Thursday, but it was called off because of the accident. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Gabriela, her family and loved ones,” the film production said in a written statement. “We are looking into what caused the accident.” State workplace investigators in Indiana also are looking into the accident.
