Today we are mourning the death of longtime ESPN anchor, Stuart Scott. After fighting a long and hard battle, Scott passed away from cancer. Scott will forever live on for the way he changed sports journalism. From catchphrases like “booyah” and “cool as the other side of the pillow”, Scott changed the face of sportscasting. He didn’t try to fit the cookie cutter image, instead he was himself. He talked like us, he used references we were familiar with, movies, music, he brought the hip hop culture to the sports world and now it’s more prevalent than ever.
