Young Thug Speaks On Name Change
Yesterday, we reported that Lyor Cohen had announced Young Thug will be changing his name to ‘No My Name Is Jeffery.’ This coincides with his forthcoming mixtape of the same name, which is set to drop today. Thankfully for Thugger fans, the name change may not be permanent. “I’m Jeffery for one f*cking week. If I don’t sell a 100,000 copies,” he told Travi$ Scott on the first episode of Scott’s Beats 1 radio show. So he’s saying if he DOES sell 100,000 copies, he’ll keep the name? But if he doesn’t, he’s going back to Young Thug…right? So yeah, pretty sure “Young Thug” will be back next week. Listen below and let me know if I’m interpreting this right!

Young Thug And Elton John Are Reportedly Working On A Collaboration
In a Noisey interview back in December, Sir Elton John reveled that he’s a fan of Atlanta rapper Young Thug. He praised Thugga saying, “I love all of that, it’s unexpected.” It now appears that Elton John may be moving from fan to collaborator as the two have recently had a meeting via FaceTime. According to FADER reports, Lyor Cohen, co-founder of Thugga’s 300 Entertainment organized the FaceTime meeting and Elton John followed up by sending over the instrumentals to his 1972 hit “Rocket Man.” Young Thug proceeded to freestyle over the instrumental. According to The FADER’s source reports, “It’s all the instrumental, the guitar, piano; and Thug is not rapping, he’s singing,” adding, “It’s really ambient and amazing.” Either way it’s dope!
