The team has had internal talks about going after Adrian Peterson in free agency and that is still a possibility but the news of them inquiring about Lynch certainly changes things.

Some players have called it quits over fear of head injuries and wanting to protect themselves for the rest of their lives and some other players have had to retire from the result of an injury. In the case of Zachary Orr of the Baltimore Ravens, his reasoning for retiring at age 24 somewhat has to do with both reasons.

Since he has already returned to the team, retirement clearly wasn’t on his mind and he let reporters know that after the Knicks win over the Bulls.
