Carmelo Anthony & Lebron James are the biggest names in NBA free agency this off season. They have been big names though now for about 12-13 years and they have been competing against each other for just as long. In February 2002, James’ St. Vincent-St. Mary High School (Akron, Ohio) and Anthony’s Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Virginia) squared off in Trenton, New Jersey. James dropped 36 points on 12-of-27 shooting, and he also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists. Anthony put up 34 points on 14-of-25 shooting and had 11 rebounds. In a battle of two young stars, it was Anthony’s team that pulled out the victory, 72-66.

Don’t mess with the animals! Texas Tech university cheerleader Kendall Jones is finding that out the hard way this week after photos of her hunting escapade surfaced. She is pictured with numerous dead animals including some endangered species according to reports. She seems to be very happy over the kills she made in the pics and that has people outraged. She even has began receiving death threats with one of them being from Joanna Krupa of the “Real Housewives of Miami”. The threats haven’t seemed to phase Jones though as she said ” We feel safe here in Texas”. Jones is not backing down and even seems to be mocking the people making negative comments. Unlike back in the summer of 2010 when Lebron made his famous “decision” he is doing things differently this time. When I say doing things differently that actually means he isn’t doing anything at all. Bron has been sending his agent to do all the work of meeting with potential teams and weeding out the least likely scenarios compared to the realistic ones. If you remember back then, Bron was meeting with teams all over the country in what turned out to be one of the biggest dramas on television which eventually led to him signing with the Heat. This time around it is the Heat that are the frightened team as they sit and watch and can do nothing. According to Bron’s agent the list is down to four other teams that have a legit chance to snatch him away from South Beach.

The New York Knicks got to have the final word with Carmelo Anthony after his tour around the country visiting team and they are hoping that will be enough. After taking visits in Chicago, Houston and Dallas, Melo had his last scheduled meeting with the Lakers yesterday. With the pressure on the Knicks made a move to schedule their meeting right after he talked with the Lakers. They flew out from New York to meet with him and give their final push before he is expected to decide early next week. All reports say they officially offered the max deal. Hit the jump.

Swaggy P loves the kids. Nick Young hosted a basketball camp this week for young kids and I bet the farthest thing from his mind was one of those kids embarrassing him on the court. As Nick plays defense the kid shows off a little dribbling skills and then attacks the rim. He catches Nick with a fake then makes him jump about 5 feet away from the rim while little man scores. This wasn’t for the cameras either because there are other videos from the same day where Nick is just blocking shots and stealing the ball from the kids with no problem.
