NFL: Robert Griffin III: ‘I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league’

I’ve said it before that great athletes are supposed to say they’re the best even if they’re not but there’s exceptions to this.  First, you shouldn’t say it if you’re aren’t prompted i.e a leading question from the interviewer, Secondly, you shouldn’t say it if you haven’t been performing well lately.  Apparently Robert Griffin III wasn’t aware of those two exceptions.

Matt Barnes is in the running for the worst week ever.  TMZ caught up Barnes and he kinda confirmed and insinuated that things were heating up between him and Rihanna.  There were rumors that the two went on a couple dates and Barnes said “there could be a future”.  Well RiRi caught wind of the interview and shut all that talk down, saying that she’s never even met Barnes.  As you know Serge Ibaka and Barnes have a tumultuous history as Matt still wants to fight.  Seeing an opportunity to pile on his nemesis, Ibaka took to his Twitter account to laugh at Barnes expense.

There’s a debate over how you should treat child athletics.  You don’t want to be too harsh on young children, but you also want to breed winners that go out and try hard.  Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison leans more towards the latter and took away his kids’ participation trophies because he wants them to “EARN a real trophy.”


NBA: Charles Barkley Wants Kobe Bryant to Retire: ‘Old people don’t get healthy; they die’

Kobe Bryant has played just 41 games over the past two seasons due to injury and has one-year left on his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.  If you know Kobe however, you know he wants to go out on his own terms.  Though he’s hinted that this could be his last season, he has refused to confirm that he will retire.  Charles Barkley hopes he does.
