“Planet Rock” is a 1982 song by Afrika Bambaataa & the Soulsonic Force. Although it was only a minor hit in the US, Canada, and UK, it helped change the foundations of hip-hop and dance music. It is credited with re-developing the electro style that was originally pioneered by Kraftwerk and helped pave the way for other genres such as techno, house, and trance. November 2004, the “Planet Rock” placed at #237 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and #10 in About.com’s Top 100 Rap Songs. “Planet Rock” peaked at number four on the soul chart and number forty-eight on the Hot 100, and went to number three on the dance charts Everyday at 5pm we post a classic video that meant something in hip hop.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN LATIFAH!!! Just Another Day… is one of the singles released from Queen Latifah’s 1993 album Black Reign. It was written by Queen Latifah and Apache. The video was directed by Mark Gerard. The CD single features New Jack Swing remixes by Teddy Riley of Blackstreet. The song contains samples of Hey Young World By Slick Rick Without giving credit. Jump Around” is a hit single by the band House of Pain, produced by DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill. This song became a hit in 1992, reaching Number 3 in the USA. A 1993 re-release of the song in the UK, where the original had been a minor hit, peaked at Number 8. On VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s, “Jump Around” was featured at position 24. It was number 66 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop. The song is popular among dance hall DJs and is widely regarded in the UK as a club classic.
