Boosie Badazz Donates To Flood Victims In His Home State Of Louisiana

The floods in Southern Louisiana have left over 40,000 residents with damaged homes, 20,000 residents displaced and 11 people dead. Louisiana native Boosie Badazz is stepping up to do his part to help, revealing on Instagram last night that he brought care packages enough for 20,000 people, filled with socks, underwear, bottled water and a hygiene kit.


The Weeknd Reportedly Donated $250k To Black Lives Matter Movement

The Weeknd is really in a giving mood! On top of donating $50k to the University of Toronto to help fund an Ethiopic studies program, he has also reportedly donated $250k to the Black Lives Matter movement. Little is known about the donation and what it will go toward, but the information originally appeared in Complex’s article about his UofT donation.


Troy Ave Sets Up Scholarship Fund At The High School He & Banga Attended

Despite being behind bars and fighting multiple charges, Troy Ave has set up an an athletic scholarship at the high school that he attended along with his late friend and bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter. The New Utrecht High School scholarship will provide $2,000 a year to an exceptional individual for five years, and according to Ave’s lawyer, the first student will be presented with a scholarship in McPhatter’s name today.


Rihanna Launches Global Scholarship Program

Through her non-profit organization, the Clara Lionel Foundation, Rihanna has launched a global scholarship program for college-bound students around the world, who are attending school in the U.S. The select countries included for now are Barbados, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Guyana, Jamaica and the States, and the student must be accepted into a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the 2016-2017 year to be eligible.
