(Video) Russell Simmons Brings the Peace to L.A. High School

Refusing to rest on his laurels as one of the culture’s architects or just do a few things on #BlackLivesMatter and be an “armchair revolutionary,” the Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons Brings the Peace to L.A. High School this week in a big way!

Migos Respond After Being Roasted For “Only” Donating $1,000 To ATL High School

Atlanta rap group Migos have been the subject of criticism all morning, after a photo surfaced of all 3 members at Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta, presenting a check worth $1,000. Many are divided in their reaction, with some noting that a good deed is a good deed and it’s $1,000 more than anyone laughing at them has given, while others say they could have donated a lot more…and/or not have been dripping in expensive jewelery while doing so.

(Video) Busta Rhymes Writes Thank You Letter To Hip Hop for Supporting “CoCo”

Not quite a “4 Page Letter” but considering people don’t ‘write’ anymore, the net is a buzz from the latest Instagram post of The Conglomerate Entertainment’s HNIC. Not everyone is grateful or makes a point to give back love these days, but the bar’s been raised as Busta Rhymes Writes Thank You Letter To Hip Hop for Supporting “CoCo” and his protege O.T. Genasis.

Celebrity Weed Mogul Milk Tyson Sells His Marijuana Company To Do WHAT Instead?!

Famous Marijuana mogul Milk Tyson is known in the industry for selling pot to some of the biggest celebs including his BFF Justin Bieber (who he has tattooed on his arm), Travis Barker and many more. However, the celeb weed dealer has found a new obsession that does not include the green. Awhile back, Tyson auctioned off a few of Justin Bieber’s spray cans online to raise money for the typhoon victims in the Philippines. Ever since then, he has found a new love in — you guessed it — charity. He recently sold his weed company to launch an 11-city hospital tour which has celebrities record videos for young children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. If you go to Milk’s Instagram page, his entire feed is filled with cancer patiences who he is currently helping. Tyson’s foundation called Fighting All Monsters While Finding All Meaning is set to raise millions from the help of his famous buds. He already has the support and backing of countless celeb “customers” of his, and I’m sure more will hop on board as they gain word of it. Drug dealer or not, this is such an amazing thing Milk Tyson is doing with his time and money. MAD props to him! Check out some pics of his work over in the gallery.

Giving Back: Chance The Rapper & Sway Help Raise $100,000 For Chicago’s Get Schooled Program

I love reporting stuff like this! Chance The Rapper teamed up with his brother Taylor Bennett, Sway Calloway and more, and raised $100,000 for schools in his hometown of Chicago through their Get Schooled program! The money will go towards new technology (computers, iPads, etc) to help 6 elementary schools with their digital learning programs. “The city is focused on helping students prepare for college, and The Get Schooled, Get Connected Challenge did just that,” Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel said at the event, which was held on Martin Luther King Day. Get Schooled has already helped 22,000 Chicago households with internet service since the foundation started. More info available here!

(Video) Just Tap or Click for Thin Mints: Girl Scouts Go Digital

The Girl Scouts Go Digital with their newest “Digital Cookie” program to the delight (and dismay) of many. Everyone knows the age old hustles of community bake sales, selling candy in mass transit, and of course the king (or shall we say queen or princess of them all)–the annual Girl Scout Cookie Drive. But with 21st century life comes the demand for technology and convenience, so change is upon us!
