It’s officially Abel season. After a recent collab with Cashmere Cat, an appearance with Daft Punk in the studio and some cryptic tweets about something possibly coming in the fall, we now have our answer of what it is. Weeknd took to his Instagram to announce his new album titled “STARBOY.” No official word on when the project is dropping, but this is big news considering the massive success “Beauty Behind The Madness” took in. One has to wonder, could this be a more EDM album than R&B? Weeknd has even said this will be his best sounding project to date, with a new transformation as an artist. News that Max B would be coming home sooner than later was first announced by Wiz Khalifa on Friday, who has always been a champion of Max and names him as one of his biggest inspirations. (He’s also who publicly called out Kanye West when he was trying to name his album Waves.) Taking to Twitter, Wiz wrote, “Max B is coming home. Sentence got shortened. Looks like the Gang will be working wit the Wave.” Max B was sentenced in 2009 after being convicted in 2006 for a botched robbery at a hotel in New Jersey, and received 75 years. He has served seven years thus far at the New Jersey State Prison.
28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami has been named as a suspect in the New York City bombing over the weekend. He’s a naturalized US citizen from Afghanistan, whose last known address was in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He should be considered “armed and dangerous.” Governor Andrew Cuomo also added that the multiple bombs found – one four blocks away from the Chelsea explosion and one in New Jersey – have similarities, suggesting “there might have been a common linkage.”
