Since his death, he has been honored with awards and memorials in his honor. His work is studied in school and colleges around the world keeping his words and legacy alive. IFWT Celebrates Black History Month: Honoring Rosa Parks
Today, we honor civil rights activist Rosa Parks. Rosa made a huge impact on the civil rights movement on December 1, 1955 in Montgomery, Alabama when she refused to give up her seat for a white passenger which sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. She also helped Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. organize many civil rights movements and helped launch his national prominence.
