Everybody knows how important winning is to Kobe Bryant. When need be he puts the whole team on his back and hits insane shots when the game is on the line. In his quest to win is also his quest to get a sixth championship. We all know the great Michael Jordan has six rings and the Black Mamba is often compared to him so it’s only right that he finish off his career with six as well. Many thought it would happen this year when the Lakers acquired Steve Nash and Dwight Howard but things went south. Miraculously Kobe turned the season around and somehow managed to get the Lakers to the eighth seed in the Western Conference. So how badly does Kobe want to win? Read more after the jump.
Elvis Dumervil made headlines when he and his agent filed his new contract with the Denver Broncos minutes after the deadline, causing the Broncos to release him rather than owing the $16 million in guaranteed money he had coming. Several different factors including cap space made it difficult for the Broncos to re-work a deal to bring back Dumervil and now he has signed with the Baltimore Ravens. Read more after the jump.

It looks like the new Windows initiative is almost here, with Windows Blue leaking online earlier this morning. So far, it brings new sizes to tiles & new snap views for apps. The settings menu also got more touch friendly. Internet Explorer also gets a bump up to version 11. It seems like mostly cosmetic changes for now, but the public preview due in a few months should offer more insight as to what the update includes. You can peep more pictures of it in the link after the jump.
I was a bit surprised when I came across this interview Sports Illustrated did with Gucci Mane. They asked him about his friendship with NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin, as a Falcons fan what he thinks about the Michael Vick situation and what Brick Squad would be if it were a sports team (funny answer). What surprised me the most was his answer on whether or not college athletes should be paid. Check it out after the jump.

Madonna has been known to dawn the most extravagant apparel, and we’ve seen her so many ways over the years, but if you saw her dressed down on the street would you even know it was her? I used to think I would, but when I saw these shots paparazzi snapped of her while out with her twins the other day I would not have know it was her if someone didn’t tell me. Madonna is one of the rare 50 plus women that can put on a boy scout inspired ensemble and still turn heads, so she must feel comfortable in herself to just let it all go and be herself. Mayor Bloomberg is looking for gun legislation and he’s willing to put all his resources behind this cause. He co-founded the initiative Mayors Against Illegal Guns to demand that republicans and democrats alike push gun legislation to the forefront, making it harder for guns to be purchased requiring thorough background checks and keeping firearms out of the hands of the mentally ill. It also calls for a ban on assault weapons and high capacity ammunition clips. The plan is to gain support for these initiatives and to punish people who are considered “straw purchasers,” (basically those who purchase guns and sell them illegally) more severely. Bloomberg has been coming out the pocket in support of the politicians who take a firm stance on gun control and against those who have been less vocal, targeting five Democrats, and ten Republicans across the country. Since Bloomberg’s pockets are so deep, it’s going to be tough fight for anyone set in his sights, but shouldn’t it be about what the people want? Is this the people deciding to act in favor of gun control or a form of manipulation? What do you think?
