ABC News reports that 41 states have adopted the Common Core State Standards for English, which omits cursive handwriting from required curriculum. Now that it’s not mandatory, schools around the country are debating whether or not to teach it, since it takes time away from things that are more current and important to know in this day and age (like typing!). It’s kind of crazy to think it might be gone forever!! I used to STAY getting yelled at in elementary school for my cursive/print mix I tend to write in. What will become of signatures if they do away with it, though?? What do you guys think of this? Should they keep teaching it or no?

According to a new report from Bloomberg, General Motors is working on a Buick-badged version of its Opel Ampera plug-in hybrid, Europe’s mechanical twin to the Chevrolet Volt. The car hasn’t received final approval yet, as GM still isn’t sure it can get buyers to justify in inevitable premium over the $41,000 pre-incentive Volt.

Spy lenses have once again caught Porsche engineers out testing the next generation 911. Both cabriolet and coupe versions were seen out running on the Nürburgring. The 2012 Porsche 911 is expected to be slightly larger and boast a wider rear track. The boxer engine in the base model is rumored to produce 345 horsepower.
