I’m wondering what else does Mr. Carter have going on in his professional career, because this one was very much under the wraps. “The Great Gatsby” is the film directed by Baz Luuhrman, stars Leonardo Dicaprio (SEXYNESS), and executive producing the music will be the Jigga Man. The Blueprint rapper will assist Luuhrman in producing a “modern jazz” feel for the up-coming movie. Every since Leo hooked up the two (Jay-Z and Luuhrman), they’ve teamed up to “capture, translate and contrast the feelings of Fitzgerald`s decadent era with that of our own, using hip-hop and jazz, music contemporary and period, to bring two distinct American moments to simultaneous life,” according to the press release from Reuters. I guess congratulations are in order, so CONGRATULATIONS. All I need is some passes for the viewing of the movie – right next to Leonardo Dicaprio. Drop down bottom for more on the story.
Yesterday, Gametime Girl was all over the ongoing saga involving Kobe and Dahntay Jones and the back and forth on twitter, which you can read about HERE. But it seems Jones was far from done defending himself after he was on twitter earlier yesterday, and I can’t say I blame him. Kobe and some NBA fans are trying to make Jones out to be a dirty player because Kobe landed on his foot and hurt his ankle badly in the final seconds of the Lakers loss to Atlanta. But if you saw the game or watched the video of the play, if you know basketball, you know if anyone committed a foul it was actually Kobe by sticking his leg out to try and create contact with himself and Jones. Dahntay is also claiming Kobe never landed on his foot, and rather rolled his ankle on the court. Last night Jones did an interview with ESPN. Watch the clip after the jump and create your own opinion.
Belinda Carlisle is saying that she was the Lindsay Lohan of 1981-1982, she’s just lucky enough that there were no paparazzi or anything else back then. Carlisle, the lead singer of The Go-Go’s, says that she sees a lot of her younger self in LiLo. The singer, who has went onto a solo career after leaving the band, eventually quit drinking, smoking, and doing drugs but still sympathizes for the trouble actress. Read more below.
KTLA weatherman, Henry DiCarlo, was reading off his daily birthday/anniversary shout-outs on during his segment when a member of his team decided to play a prank on him. The other anchors on with DiCarlo began laughing right away and it took a minute for the weatherman to catch up but when he did, he lost it. The anchors couldn’t contain their laughter. Watch below.
I’m unsure what is weirder about this situation: Terrence Howard speaking about Oprah having “tig ol’ bitties” or that Oprah called them “breastses.” Terrence an Oprah had to film a sex scene together for an upcoming movie and Oprah said that Terrence “misbehaves.” The talk show queen sat down with Steve Harvey to talk about how she felt after Terrence had the comments about her boobs, and told Steve that she didn’t take offense for only one reason. Justin Bieber has been the pinpoint of many stories in the media as of late, and yesterday he got tired of it. Now, you know that with all of the cash flow JB has, his PR people are PAID, but he took things into his own hands yesterday. This rapper however, was NOT – even though Lindsay Lohan was – one that he was trying to speak out to. According to this guy, Justin is “legendary,” and I agree. There hasn’t been people fainting, falling out, and going CRAY like JB’s fans since Michael Jackson. Check out who the rapper is down below in the gallery.
