Lady Gaga canceled the remaining shows on her “Born This Way Ball” tour due to severe damage in her hip. Gaga says she injured herself a while back but she tried to hide it, she didn’t even let her staff know, she didn’t want to let down her fans. Now she’s really going to be letting her fans down, canceling her tour and going under the knife to mend her torn right labrum. The labrum is a layer of muscle that helps holds the hip joint in place. It was earlier reported that she had a case of synovitis, an inflammation of the joints. The tour grossed 161 Million in 2012 making it the 5th most lucrative tour of the year so at least we know her pockets aren’t hurting a bit. Hit the jump for more.
Michael Jordan’s 50th birthday party was the real All-Star event this weekend. Jordan’s soireé was held at the Museum of Fine Arts with an evening that consisted of a private dinner for 100 and a concert for 200 additional guests. I posted pictures earlier of Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, their significant others and more ball players at the event. Jordan was also joined by the musical elite of Jay-Z and Beyonce, Nas, R-Kelly, Ludacris and more. Check out the additional pics after the jump.
An attempt to take Rick Ross’ life was made on his birthday when a driver opened fire on Rozay’s care forcing him to crash into a nearby building. So far, Ross played it coy about the shooting while brushing off the danger he was in. Meek Mill, Ross’ artist, took sometime out of his All Star Weekend fun to speak on his boss’ drive-by shooting. Although Meek is concerned, he isn’t too surprised since he’s use to seeing people get killed every day. Watch what he said below.
The body of former police officer, Christopher Dorner, was identified after being pulled out of a burning cabin. As the cabin was burning there was a ton of speculation as to if Dorner was in it or not and it was confirmed a day later that his body was in fact in the cabin. Now, after an autopsy, the real cause of death has been revealed and it was from a gunshot to the head that is believed to be self-inflicted. Dorner killed four people and wounded three others before taking his own life on Tuesday afternoon. Read more below.
One of the earliest stipulations of Obamacare has been axed due to a lack of funding. In my opinion, the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan is one of the most important aspects of Obamacare and sadly it’s being cut off. The PCIP is an insurance program that ensures that people with pre-exisiting conditions such as cancer, heart issues, etc. cannot get turned down by insurance companies. PCIP has served more than 135,000 but it will be running out of money so they will not be taking any new patients. The PCIP provided the “needed security to some of our nation’s sickest people.” Started January 1, insurance companies are no longer allowed to refuse anyone because of poor health. Read more below.
Curren$y dropped the video for Living For The City after shooting the visuals for the single last night. Though Curren$y’s LP, New Jet City features some of the dopest artist in hip hop, from Trinidad James to Rick Ross, and Wiz khalifa (obviously), this one is Spitta on his own. Check it out this is real artistry right here. Of course, Spitta had to eat his Wheaties before he dropped the video. Hit the jump for more.
Rihanna and Chris Brown seem to be having much happier times lately. The couple have been inseparable since they first stepped out together and he broke up with Karrueche Tran. Breezy and Rih were just spotted together looking cute at the Grammy’s but now there might be trouble in paradise! Rihanna gave Chris Brown the cold shoulder at a club recently and for a good reason. The young couple were at the Playhouse in L.A. and it seemed like they weren’t speaking to each other. Read why the duo is fighting below.
