NBA: Draft Prospect Kristaps Porzingis Says Knicks are the Best Organization in the NBA

As the draft steadily approaches there’s always a player or two who comes out of nowhere and rises steadily on the draft board.  That player this year is Kristaps Porzingis.  He is the guy shaking up the top of the draft board — he’s got a lot of fans in NBA front offices. They see a guy already more than seven feet tall and incredibly long, who has shooting range out to the NBA three-point line, and who is a fluid athlete.  The draft prospects did interviews today and Porzingis said something that had a lot of people scratching their heads.

After a couple bad trades and a self admitted “project gone awry”, Knicks president Phil Jackson is faced with the task of rebuilding a team that has steadily gone downhill.  With currently the worst record in the NBA, it’s assumed the Knicks are in full tank mode and will likely end up with a top-3 pick in the upcoming draft.  Jackson has also spent a lot of time lately at college games scouting potential players.  Many Knicks fans have their sights set on Jahlil Okafor or Karl-Anthony Towns to save the team but it turns out despite all those facts, Jackson is actually focused on free agency.
