A few months back Nas debuted this documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC to mark the 20th anniversary of his debut album. Nas: Time Is Illmatic gives an in-depth look into the journey of Nasir Jones’ childhood, his musical influences, and how the streets of Queensbridge inspired the young rapper to craft a hip-hop classic. “It was trying to make the perfect album,” Nas says. “I gave you what the streets felt like, sounded like, tasted like.” Hit the jump to watch the new trailer and see the tour sate list to find out when Time Is Illmatic is coming to s city near you.

In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of his seminal debut album Illmatic, Nas held a contest inviting fans to collaborate and produce the official music video for “Represent,” an influential track off of the classic release. This is the first video ever made for the track and was shot at the YouTube Space Los Angeles.
