(Photos) Cover, Tracklist + Release Date: Chevy Woods – The 48 Hunnid Project

Taylor Gang’s own Chevy Woods has put out tons of mixtapes throughout the course of his career, and now he’s finally gearing up for his first retail release. The Pittsburgh native has announced an August 7 release date for The 48 Hunnid Project, a 7-track EP that includes features from DeJ Loaf (on the previously released “All Said And Done“), Wiz Khalifa, OG Maco and more. “This is, like, a couple of years in the making for this project,” Chevy told HipHopDX. “It took me a while to get the songs that I wanted, to record how I wanted, to get the right features, get the right production. It took me this long just to get everything that I wanted in place, I didn’t wanna give nobody, like, a mixtape-sounding project. I wanted to get out something that was a little bigger.” Check out the tracklist in the gallery and pre-order on iTunes here.

Album Release Date: Chance The Rapper – Surf

Update: Well, just as soon as we got the release date for “Surf”, Chance the Rapper’s brother, Taylor Bennet reveals the possible cover art. “N-E Day Now,” he tweets out along with an attached water paint-like cover. Check it out in the gallery after the jump. Original: Chance The Rapper is back on his feet following his brief health scare last week, and reportedly made a major announcement during his show last night at Michigan State University – his second album Surf is coming in less than a week! “From @chancetherapper himself, his 2nd album “Surf” drops in less than a week,” @maximumjohnston tweeted, while another concert goer @grantgifford66 wrote, “Chance just said #surf drops in less than a week [eyeball emojis]” The project was announced last fall with a 2014 release date but clearly never came, and Chance himself later told comedian Hannibal Buress that Surf would be “very much so a Beyoncé kind of thing” … aka, a surprise. Let’s hope he keeps true to his word!

Album Release Date: Young Thug – Hy!£UN35

Much like Drake’s If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, Young Thug’s recent iTunes release Barter 6 was touted as simply a mixtape, with his debut album slated for release later this year. Now confirmed by his record label 300 Entertainment, Thugger’s Hy!£UN35 (yeah, I have no idea what that’s supposed to be either…) is due out on August 28. “300 is proud to present Young Thug,” 300’s Lyor Cohen said in a press release. “We believe he is a unique artist who will have a special place in the future of hip-hop.” 300 Entertainment is also home to Fetty Wap and Migos.

Did Amazon Accidentally Reveal A$AP Rocky’s Album Release Date?

A$AP Rocky has been crafting the follow-up to his 2013 debut Long.Live.A$AP. for some time now, and if Amazon’s recent listing is right…we’ll be getting At.Long.Last.A$AP. in less than two months! The online retailer’s UK site is currently listing a May 26 release for A.L.L.A., which is right on par with the “surprise releases” artists have been gravitating toward since Beyoncé started the trend in December of 2013, as the date is only 7 weeks out.

Waka Flocka Announces ‘Flockaveli 2’ Release Date + Some MAJOR Features!

Waka Flocka has been busy touring and being a reality star on Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta, but he’s managed to find time to record in between, and is now gearing up for the release of a new studio album. Taking to Twitter yesterday, the Brick Squad rapper revealed that Flockaveli 2 will drop on June 1, and will feature cameos from the likes of Jay Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake and 50 Cent. Those are some pretty huge names! Back in November, Flocka revealed an tracklist of sorts by taking a picture of the project in his iTunes, but at 31 songs, it’s likely that they all will not make the cut – especially considering most labels are restricting standard albums to 10 songs these days. (You get a few more on a deluxe version, but that’s about 3 at best…nowhere near 31!) Will you be checking for Flockaveli 2 when it drops?
