“Gangnam Style” Singer Apologizes For Anti-American Lyrics

Korean pop star PSY, who got a crazy amount of fame after his song “Gangnam Style” became the most viewed YouTube video ever, has issued an apology for his 2004 anti-American song. The lyrics of the song call for the death of American troops serving in Iraq. The song was written after a South Korean hostage was slayed by Iraqi insurgents and a anti-American sentiment spread across South Korea. When the media found out that PSY had these lyrics, it sparked an outrage in America and many people began to bash the singer regardless of the countless Americans who feel almost the same way he does. One day America is going to learn that the whole world doesn’t have to like us and although calling for the death of American troops is extremely harsh, many Americans do say the same thing often. How many times have you heard an American say “we should just blow up all of Iraq or Afghanistan?” that’s as equally wrong as everything PSY said.  Read more below. Julie A.
