Sports: Whoa Did Caitlyn Jenner Demand ESPYS Award In Exchange For PR Plugs & Diane Sawyer Interview?!

ESPN has come under fire for giving Caitlyn Jenner the Arthur Ashe Courage award and now this report added fuel to the fire.  Representatives of Caitlyn Jenner reportedly negotiated her ESPYs award in exchange for PR plugs in her upcoming TV series and threatened to pull out of her 20/20 interview if it didn’t happen.  Reports have emerged that Jenner’s team approached ESPN with the idea that she win the Arthur Ashe Courage Award just as details were being finalized for her 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC.

There was tons of controversy surrounding ESPN’s decision to give Caitlyn Jenner the Arthur Ashe Courage award at this year’s ESPYS, but in the end she delivered a truly emotional speech that touched many.

Announced to some cheers and some major disappointment, ESPN decided to honor Caitlyn Jenner (formerly known as Bruce Jenner) with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at this year’s ESPYS, for “showing courage to embrace the truth that she had hidden for years.”  While many people championed Jenner for her courage, many were outraged that ESPN chose her over 19 year old Mount St. Joseph University freshman baller Lauren Hill who passed away from a brain tumor in April.

Today Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner officially became Caitlyn Jenner with a 22-page cover story on Vanity Fair.  Caitlyn showed off her new look since completing her gender transition and shared her thoughts and emotions about the process.  Caitlyn has been championed by many people on social media, praising her for her bravery and being who she truly wants to be.  But it doesn’t stop there.
