Auto Talk: Nissan recalling select 2012 Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra models over wheel hub fractures

The Nissan Frontier, Xterra and Pathfinder might all be rugged trucks and SUVs, but two-wheel-drive versions of these vehicles are being recalled due to front suspension components that could possibly fail. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Nissan is recalling about 2,400 of these models due to defective front wheel hubs that were installed on 2012 model-year vehicles built from June 19 through July 12. Auto Talk:Ferrari FF gets sweeping panoramic roof option

Perhaps overshadowed at the Paris Motor Show by the carbon fiber chassis bits of the still unnamed Enzo successor, was news from Ferrari about a roof. The oddball Italian supercar maker has announced that its FF will now be available with a full-length panoramic roof – the first of its kind for the manufacturer, since it normally doesn’t have such long roofs to work with. In this case, the roof of the all-wheel drive four-seat hatch is made of a single massive pane of glass. Funk Flex

Auto Talk: BMW Concept K2 Powder Ride and 2013 X1 Powder Ride Edition are ready to hit the slopes

BMW is celebrating the North American launch of its X1 compact crossover with a special edition and the new lifestyle-oriented concept shown above. The Concept K2 Powder Ride is the summation of a three-year partnership between BMW and sports-equipment manufacturer K2. The companies have slathered the exterior of an X1 with a special graphics package lifted from a limited-edition K2 ski and designers bolted on a custom roof rack to accommodate all sorts of gear. The rack also features a Harman Kardon speaker system for impromptu dance sessions. Or something. Funk Flex


Auto Talk: GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
