(Video) President Obama Bans Solitary Confinement For Juveniles In Federal Prisons

Monday (January 25) President Obama announced a ban on solitary confinement for juveniles in the federal prison system. According to the POTUS the practice is overused and causes devastating psychological consequences. In a statement regarding his reform, Obama stated, “How can we subject prisoners to unnecessary solitary confinement, knowing its effects, and then expect them to return to our communities as whole people?” adding “It doesn’t make us safer. It’s an affront to our common humanity.” Read more below.
