Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 4/13/14 … ‘Frozen’ Soundtrack Keeps Breaking Records!

Disney’s “Frozen” soundtrack won’t stop its reign! For the 10th [nonconsecutive] week, it holds down the number one spot on the Billboard 200, moving an additional 133k copies in the last 7 days. The album’s cumulative sales now rest at a cool 2.1 million, and is now one of just 11 albums to have spent at least 10 weeks at number 1 since the chart started using SoundScan’s point-of-sale data on May 25, 1991. In addition, “Frozen” now ties “The Lion King” for the most weeks at No. 1 for an animated film soundtrack. Get the full top 10 below!

For the ninth nonconsecutive week, Disney’s soundtrack to Frozen sits in the top spot on Billboard 200, with an additional 149k copies sold – bringing its tally to 1.9 million. The album is one week away from tying The Lion King for the longest run at number one by an animated film soundtrack. The Lion King held the number one spot for 10 nonconsecutive weeks from late ’94 through the top of 1995. Get the full top 10 below!


Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/30/14 … Frozen Soundtrack Achieves Most Weeks At #1 Since Adele’s ’21’

The soundtrack to Disney’s hit film Frozen just nabbed its eighth [non-consecutive] week at number 1 on the Billboard 200, marking the longest run atop the list since Adele’s 21 had a 24-week run in 2012. With another 161k copies sold this week, the total tally is now at 1.8 million units sold, with 1.5 million of those sold in 2014 alone. Aside from Frozen, YG also remains in the top 10 this week, as well as Pharrell, with debuts from Shakira, Erica Campbell (of Mary Mary) and more. Check out the full list below!

Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/23/14 … Congrats to YG on a #2 Debut!

Damn you, Frozen soundtrack! The new release of the movie on DVD and Blu-ray brought its already chart-topping soundtrack to its highest numbers yet…in its 17th week, at that…moving 202k units and screwing things up for YG! Because of this, YG’s debut, My Krazy Life, missed its opportunity for the number one spot, though coming in at number 2 with 61k sold isn’t too shabby either! While some are saying this number isn’t great – you have to consider the fact that he was ONLY popular regionally up until just a couple of months ago. He delivered an extremely solid and acclaimed project, with two singles selling extremely well, so it’s not like the numbers were strictly because of a fluke, one-hit wonder situation. Billboard’s Top 10 Album Sales, Week Ending 3/16/14 … Congrats To Young Money On A Top 10 Album!

The numbers are in for last week’s album sales. Last week’s 3 big debuts – Rick Ross, Pharrell and Ashanti – have all slipped in their slots, though they’re still in the top 10 on Billboard, save for Ashanti.
