Marine Corps Lifts Ban On Natural Hairstyles For Black Women

A win for the sistaz! The Marine Corps has finally changed their out of date rule that pretty much banned black women from being themselves. Their controversial hair regulations prohibited women serving in the Corps from wearing braids, locs, afros, and “matted and unkept” hair; this ban was clearly geared towards Black Women. In the latest revision of these regulations women are now permitted to wear two strand twist and thin locs. Learn more after the jump!

Black women have surpassed any other group in both race and gender by having the highest percentage that is the most educated. The National Center of Education Statistics has reported by the US Census state that black women have the highest numbers for enrollment in college. Wale Opens Up About Black Women’s “Representation In The Entertainment World”

Wale pens an open letter, expressing his views points on black women and how their representation in the media is depicted. It’s no surprise that in 2015, the phrase “sex sells” holds 100% truth more now then ever. During the casting call process for his latest visual “The Body“, Wale decided to steer clear of the ‘half-naked lady’ and go with a dark-complexed women with much left to the imagination. The woman in the video [Mariah] depicts a more “normal beauty,” Wale states, and he hopes that more black women take on this role. Check down bottom for more.

NBA: Old Tweets From Paul George Saying He Prefers White Women Over Black Women Causes Uproar

I’m not sure why these tweets are coming up now, but it’s got some fans in a bad place with Paul George.  In 2010 the Pacers baller tweeted about preferring white women more than black women.  Some people don’t care and say he’s allowed to like what he likes, but as you can expect, some aren’t happy about it. Woman Dies Of Alleged Allergic Reaction To Hair Extension Glue, Similar Deaths Have Occured
