The Boston Celtics defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-85 on Sunday.  Marcus Smart was an integral part of the win, putting up 26 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.  Following the game, Russell Westbrook who put up 27 points but was 5/20 from the field, was asked about Smart who “physically can sort of match up with you, to some degree,” according to a reporter. “Was there anything special about the way he played tonight?”  Well Russy wasn’t willing to gush over Smart and threw his own Westbrook cockiness in there.

NBA Report: Kelly Olynyk Might’ve Hurt Mutual Interest Between Kevin Love & Celtics, Lakers in the Lead

Kevin Love has a player option next season; he can opt-out and become a free agent, giving other teams an opportunity to lure him over.  There’s been a lot of reports about Love not fitting in with the Cavaliers and possibly bolting after this season.  He was finding his stride with the team during their round 1 series against the Boston Celtics.  As you know that all came to a halt when Kelly Olynyk did what Love called a “bush league” play, injuring Kevin’s shoulder.  This could greatly affect Love’s free agency decision and cost the Celtics more than they thought.

The Boston Celtics hold the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference but the Charlotte Hornets and Indiana Pacers are fighting to get to the playoffs trailing the Celtics by 1.5 and 2 games respectively.  Wednesday night was a big match between the Celtics and Pacers.  Boston had a scare when they almost lost their 7-footer Kelly Olynyk, but he fought through a gruesome black eye and came through big for the team.

On Wednesday night on the court, the Boston Celtics got one of their biggest wins of the season, a 95-92 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies that keeps Boston in the Eastern Conference playoff race.  Off the court, things were much uglier at the TD Garden as an altercation took place.
