Brian Banks story captured everyone’s hearts when he was released from jail after serving five years for a rape he did not commit.  The high school football star had already  committed to USC when his dreams were ruined.  He was released after his accuser admitted she made the whole thing up.  Following the outpour of love Banks received, he also got a shot with the Atlanta Falcons but was later cut.  Now he’s got an even bigger opportunity, the chance to bring his story to the big screen with an amazing director.

NFL: School District Sues Brian Banks’ Accuser Over $750K She Got For False Rape Claim

Wanetta Gibson, the woman who put aspiring linebacker Brian Banks in prison for five years by falsely accusing him of rape, also got $750,000 from the school district in Long Beach, California, by falsely claiming they failed to keep her safe from Banks. NFL: Falcons Sign Brian Banks … Who Was Wrongfully Accused of Rape & Spent 5 Years in Prison!

This is such a sad yet happy story. I can’t even imagine being locked up for years for something I didn’t do. SMH. I’m so happy this guy is getting a second chance! The Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday signed linebacker Brian Banks, who was exonerated last year in a California rape case in which he was falsely accused.
