NBA: Deron Williams Says WHAT About The Miami Heat?

Let the trash talk begin. The real NBA season is in full swing now and tonight the Brooklyn Nets host the Miami Heat. With the regular season just starting, you expect teams to be confident about what they can do against the rest of the league. Deron Williams suffered an ankle injury and it was beginning to look like he would miss the start of the upcoming season.  He put an end to those questions however when he made his preseason debut as the Miami Heat hosted the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.  Though he only played 10 minutes they sure were memorable as he went 4-of-5  from the field  including 3 three-pointers in just 67 seconds.


NBA: Jason Kidd Approached the Nets About Becoming Their Head Coach

Everyone was surprised the Brooklyn Nets hired Jason Kidd as their new head coach less than 10 days after his retirement from basketball and from their rival team the New York Knicks.  While many think the Nets reached out to Kidd to make it happen it turns out it was the other way around.

The Brooklyn Nets are one of the deepest teams in the league, except at the point guard position.  They’ve been pretty mum and nonchalant about the extent of Deron Williams’ ankle injury but now it’s appearing a little more serious.  Read more after the jump.


NBA: Nets Coach Jason Kidd Suspended 2 Games For DUI

Brooklyn Nets new coach Jason Kidd will have to wait to coach his first game in the NBA. Today the league announced a 2 game suspension dating back to his DUI arrest in July. Kidd was driving late at night and was intoxicated when he crashed into a utility pole. Assistant Lawerence Frank, who coincidentally was Kidd’s coach when he was a player on the Nets, will coach the first 2 games.


NBA: Paul Pierce is Committed to the City of Boston

Being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Brooklyn Nets was extremely difficult for  Paul Pierce.  To leave the city and team where he built his career was no easy task but it had to be done as the Celtics entered rebuilding mode.  Though Pierce has made his peace with it and is committed to working hard with the Nets, his heart is still in Boston and he wants to keep it that way.  Read more after the jump.
