NBA fans have been in a frenzy since late last night when news broke of the blockbuster trade between the Celtics and Nets. Brooklyn fans have been going crazy all day with high hopes and dreams of a championship, while Celtics fans have been going crazy all day in a much different way. If you can remove yourself from being a fan for a second and look at the trade itself, it actually does make quite a bit of sense for both teams involved. But at the end of the day, what does the trade mean for these two teams and the Eastern Conference as a whole? Hit the jump to read more!!

NBA:(Video) WOW! Still In Shock, KG & Paul Pierce Traded To Brooklyn

The chants of “Brooklynnnnn” in the Barclays Center just got a whole lot louder for next season. Late last night the Celtics and Brooklyn Nets stole the show on draft night as the two teams announced a blockbuster trade. Kevin Garnett & Paul Pierce are headed to Brooklyn to play for new head coach Jason Kidd. This deal was rumored to be building steam earlier in the week and suddenly things escalated quickly. Along with KG & Pierce, the Nets also get Jason Terry while the Celtics received 3 1st round draft picks over the next few years along with Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, and a few other role players. That means you will officially see Kanye & Kim Kardashian courtside for Nets games more often now that Humphries is gone, lol. Read more and watch the video after the jump.

NBA:(Video) Brooklyn Nets Want Jeff Van Gundy As Coach??

After the Nets were knocked out of the playoffs by the Bulls in the first round, they let go of interim coach P.J. Carlesimo and started their new coach search. Phil Jackson said no, the Celtics refused to give permission to talk to Doc Rivers. They are hoping they won’t get a third strike and then be really scrambling for a coach. Reports have surfaced that they have spoken with former NBA coach and current ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy. I think it would be a great hire. Van Gundy has proven he can handle coaching superstar players, even though I am not sure right now if Deron Williams is considered a superstar. He would have no problem handling the spotlight and the media pressure that comes from being in New York. The Nets in my opinion also need to upgrade their roster, because the team they have now will never come close to winning a championship. Hopefully it will work out for them and Van Gundy. It is always nice to know you have a coach who ain’t scared to jump in a fight, lol. Check the videos after the jump.

When the Brooklyn Nets decided not to hire interim coach P.J. Phil Jackson said no already so that only leaves a couple headline catching names out there to possibly coach the Nets. Well you can now officially cross Doc Rivers off the list as well. Brooklyn asked the Celtics for permission to speak with Doc and got shut down with the quickness. See what happened after the jump.
