(Video) NBA: Celtics Marcus Smart Leaves Court On Stretcher After Ugly Ankle Injury

Celtics rookie Marcus Smart was carted off the court a little while ago after a very painful looking ankle injury. As Smart went towards the basket during the Celtics game with the Pacers, his ankle took a ugly roll and was hard to watch. The fact that he couldn’t put any pressure on it and was serious enough to be carted off is not a good sign. Hopefully the outcome is not as bad as it looked.

(Photo)NBA: Celtics Rookie Marcus Smart Buys Parents A Mini-Mansion

It has to be one of the best feelings to be able to financially provide for the same people who took care of you and that is what Marcus Smart is doing. Before he spends any of his new found wealth on unnecessary things Smart took care of home, buying a mini mansion for his parents just outside of Dallas. Marcus said ‘She picked out an awesome place. It’s incredible. I love it, so she did a good job. It was crazy. I looked at my mom and she was smiling from ear to ear. And my dad. And I just felt proud. It’s probably one of the biggest accomplishments as a young man, is to give your mom what she always wanted. And to take care of her, especially after she takes care of you all those years. And to make her happy. It’s a blessing. I thank God every day for the opportunity to be able to do something like that”. Hit the jump to see the pics.

NBA: Report, Rajon Rondo Falls At Home, Breaks Hand

Rajon Rondo will not be on the court for the Celtics when they open training camp next week. He also will likely not be on the court when the season starts either and all of this due to a clumsy move at home. Rondo apparently fell at home and when he tried to brace his fall, he wound up breaking his hand. “The team confirmed that Rondo “underwent successful surgical fixation of a left metacarpal fracture” and said the “injury was a result of a fall at his home (Thursday) night.” He’s expected to miss the next six to eight weeks”. Rondo has been the subject on many trade rumors and an injury like this will put any of those talks on hold until he heals up. The Celtics need everyone they have this season after a ugly season last year.
