Woman Accidentally Kills Herself With Assault Riffle
Anastasia Adair had only recently purchased the AK-47 that would ultimately take her life in a tragic accident in Colorado. Adair was drinking with her husband and a few friends in their garage when she went to retrieve the weapon, unfortunately during the transfer from her hands to her husbands she tripped causing the riffle to fire. Two bullets left the chamber, one lodged in Adair’s head the other shot of randomly as Shane Adair caught Anastasia’s body. The witnesses on the scene all corroborated the story. Lt. Gary Toldness told the Denver Channel that Adair had purchased the weapon at a recent gun show in March, claiming it looked like an AK-47, now authorities are investigating the incident as an accidental death. BREAKING NEWS: James Holmes Will Plead ‘Not Guilty’ By Reason Of Insanity
James Holmes has decided to enter a not guilty plea by reason of insanity for the horrible massacre he caused at a Colorado movie theater last July. His lawyers said in a court filing they plan to formally ask for the change of plea at a May 13th hearing. A judge in the case had previously entered the standard “not guilty” plea for him, and if the judge accepts the new one, Holmes would be sent to the state mental hospital, where doctors would determine whether he was insane at the time of the shootings. If the doctors do determine that Holmes was insane, a jury could still find him guilty. Colorado law defines insanity as the inability to distinguish right from wrong, caused by a diseased or defective mind. The law specifically excludes depravity, “moral obliquity” or passion caused by anger or hatred from being considered insanity. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Weed Legalization Won’t Stop You From Being Fired In Colorado?
It looks like for the first time in a landmark case a judge has ruled that you can still get fired for smoking weed in Colorado, even though weed is legal. A man named Brandon Coats who worked for the Dish Network tested positive for marijuana. Brandon had been paralyzed in a car accident and was a medical marijuana user ever since. The Colorado Court of Appeals ruled that since marijuana was still illegal under federal law, companies can still fire you. The war isn’t over folks. Check out the article after the jump.
Gun Company Threatens To Move If Bill Passes?!?!
In the neverending battle to pass laws to make our streets safer, Colorado is proposing a limit to the rounds of ammunition allowed on guns. Magpul, a gun company with high magazine guns, has threatened to leave their hometown in Colorado if the proposed bill is passed.
