Drake Speaks On Kendrick Lamar & Says How He REALLY Feels About Their ‘Beef’

Drake was called out by Kendrick Lamar in his verse on Big Sean’s “Control” this past August, and since then, people have been making out everything Drake says on verses to be “shots” back. While some are quite clearly replies, others may be simply typical Drizzy bravado, and either way one thing is for sure – there is NO issue between the two. In his new cover story for VIBE Magazine, Drake spoke in detail about their “beef” of sorts, and thoroughly explained why it’s nothing serious and it should be put to rest by now. Check out what he said below.

Did Drake Fire Shots At Kendrick Lamar On “Sh*t” Remix? Lyrics + Reactions!

Just a little while ago, the first (of many) remixes to Future’s Mike WiLL Made It-produced “Sh*t” record dropped, featuring verses from Drake and Juicy J. Drizzy’s bars are what have the net buzzing at the moment, as it appears that he finally responded to Kendrick Lamar calling him out on “Control.” “I hear you talking about your city like you run there. Then I brought my tour to your city, you my son there,” Drake raps. “And if a n*gga say my name, he the hot sh*t. But if I say that n*gga name, he still the hot sh*t.” Is he throwing shots? Definitely appears to be, but let’s not make this more than it is – It’s friendly, HEALTHY competition! The game needs this kind of stuff! Read Drake’s full verse below (I transcribed to the best of my ability but my guy is mumbling a BIT too much), as well as reactions from a couple of people from the TDE camp in the gallery and let us know your thoughts!

TIME’s Top 10 Songs Of 2013 … A Surprising Track Made The List!

TIME Magazine isn’t known for Hip-Hop much at all, but a real, true-to-form RAP song made their Top 10 Songs list this year: Big Sean’s “Control,” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica. This song wasn’t mainstream by any means, and wasn’t even an official single, but Kendrick caused so many waves with his verse, people are STILL talking about it…even in songs. (J. Cole’s verse on “TKO“, anyone?) It’s dope to see such a prestigious publication like TIME recognize such a true hip-hop track, isn’t it? Check out their full top 10 list below!

Kendrick Lamar Says He’s Cool With Drake…But He’d Be Okay If They Weren’t

Kendrick Lamar graces the cover of GQ’s latest issue as the prestigious magazine’s “Man Of The Year.” The accompanying article follows Kendrick Lamar during a few days at the end of late August…a time when the buzz from his verse in “Control” was still at deafening levels. Backstage at the 2013 MTV VMAs, the Compton rapper bumped into one of the artists he named in his controversial verse, Drake, so the interviewer took the opportunity to find out their status. “Pretty cool,” Kendrick said of his relationship with the YMCMB rapper. However, he was sure to add in: “I mean, I would be okay if we weren’t.” In the time since that interview took place, Drake has addressed the verse on multiple occasions, seeming to take a slight offense to it. Kendrick seemed to take aim at Drake again during his cypher at the 2013 BET Awards, but his target was never confirmed, and no further beef ensued. Wonder if this new interview will spark tension back up again? Hmm!
