Today was the memorial service for the late Craig Sager.  The legendary sports broadcaster passed away a few days ago after losing his fight against acute myeloid leukemia.  TNT NBA analyst Ernie Johnson gave a speech for his dear friend, which also included a perfect poem.

Now that a couple days have passed, people like his good friend and colleague, Kenny Smith, are trying to get over the mourning and start remembering the good times and celebrating his life. Kenny was at the airport where he was asked what would he be wearing to the funeral services considering Sager’s elaborate style. He didn’t even hesitate to say that Sager already told everyone they need to be dressed very loudly when they come see him for the final time.

It’s a story that has been shared before, namely in his autobiography in 1996 titled “Bad As I Wanna Be” and then again in an interview in 2011. Seeing how Sager unfortunately passed away yesterday and Rodman took to twitter to publicly thank him for preventing him from taking his own life, this is a good a time as ever to go back and share some more specific details of what happened on that night in 93′.

As we’re all getting hype for the upcoming NBA playoffs, some sad news hit the sports world.  Our favorite sideline reporter, Craig Sager’s cancer has returned.  Just a few weeks ago, we were celebrating his return to the sidelines after battling leukemia for 11 months.  Sager’s son Craig Sager Jr. announced that his father was set for another battle as the leukemia made it’s way back.
