NBA: Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban Says Hating the Miami Heat is Good For the NBA

Mark Cuban knows all about hating the MIami Heat as his team faced them in the 2011 NBA Finals.  The Mavericks came out victorious but the feelings are still there.  The Heat are now the two-time NBA champions after defeating the Thunder and Spurs consecutively and now the hate for them is strong around the league.  In fact several players have joined forces forming superteams of their own in hopes of dethroning the champs.  Cuban says the Heat hate is good for the NBA.


NBA: Monta Ellis Says He Doesn’t Have to Do as Much on the Dallas Mavericks

Monta Ellis revealed he was unhappy playing with the Milwaukee Bucks and during free agency he chose to go with the Dallas Mavericks.  Apparently he thinks there’s less required of him on this team.  Read more after the jump.


NBA: Mark Cuban Says Dirk Nowitzki’s Next Contract Will Be ‘Whatever He Wants’

It’s no secret that Mark Cuban wants Dirk Nowitzki to finish his career with the Dallas Mavericks.  Cuban has made it quite clear that Nowitzki won’t be traded and though he will become a free agent soon, Cuban is willing to offer Dirk whatever he wants as he still maintains he wants to build around the aging star.  Read more after the jump.

NBA: Dallas Mavericks Call off Deal to Sign Devin Harris

The Mavericks and Devin Harris had agreed upon a three-year deal in the neighborhood of $9 million that would return the guard to the team that traded him away in the deal that brought Jason Kidd to Dallas back in 2008.  An injury that Harris is dealing with that will now require surgery, however, has made both parties decide to call things off for now, though it’s possible that they may re-visit the situation in the future.  Read more after the jump.


NBA: Ouch!! Mavs Rookie Shane Larkin Out 2-3 Months

Dallas Mavericks rookie guard Shane Larkin, son of baseball hall of famer Barry Larkin broke his ankle in the Mavs first summer league game and is going to miss 2-3 months. It is a big setback for the rookie as he tries to adjust to the physical play in the NBA. Hit the jump to read more.
