Congrats! DJ Don Cannon Named VP Of A&R At Def Jam

Congrats go out to Philly-born, Atlanta-bred DJ and producer Don Cannon, as he has officially been named the VP of A&R at Def Jam. “Don Cannon is exactly the kind of multi-faceted producer and modern-day A&R executive who understands the Def Jam mission and culture and where we are headed for the future,” said EVP of A&R, Karen Kwak, in a statement. “He has already worked with some of our most successful artists, and we look forward to the fresh talent he will bring to the label.” “A music person can only dream about being at Def Jam, the most important hip-hop destination in the world,” Cannon said. “I’m already working 24/7 to drive the innovation of music forward and I’m confident we’ll land some big successes in the very near future.”

Def Jam On A Hunt For The ‘Yeezus’ Leaker

Kanye West’s album, Yeezus, sprung a leak yesterday and although Kanye has said he doesn’t care if the album leaks, Def Jam Records certainly does. Def Jam is said to be on a serious hunt for whoever leaked the album, which is set to be released in a few days, and rightfully so. In today’s world a leak is almost expected, but they really should not be happening because it is a driving force behind failing record sales. It is said that Def Jam has a “leaks division” that is investigating who leaked the album and they have a hunch on who it is! Read more below.
