Ke$ha Clairifies Her Original Response To “Die Young” Being Pulled After Newtown Massacre
Ke$ha’s single “Die Young” was burning up the charts these past few months, but radio quickly pulled the song due to its sensitive content following the Newtown tragedy last week. Upon hearing the news, the singer took to Twitter to release a statement, saying she was “forced” to sing the lyrics and she didn’t really want to. In the wake of the tragic shootings in Newtown this past Friday, singer Ke$ha’s top-charting single “Die Young” plummeted off radio charts after TONS of stations have decided to pull the song. Lyrics like, “Let’s make the most of the night like we’re gonna die young” are obviously some sensitive material in this time of mourning. Now, Ke$ha has taken to Twitter to respond to the issue. Which Popular Song Was Pulled Off The Radio After Newtown Massacre? (Dropping 19 MILLION Listeners!)
I never really thought about something like this happening but it does make sense. After last week’s terrible tragedy, a recent party hit has officially fallen on deaf ears. This hit went from #3 on the charts on Friday (the day of the massacre), with 167 million listeners nationwide. The day after the shooting, the song had dropped by 3 MILLION listeners – because the song was taken off radio playlists. It dropped even MORE on Monday. Find out which song after the jump. Biz Baby
